How to Share Google Analytics Access

Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use your website and whether important actions are being measured.

Before you start

Sign in with an account that has Administrator permission for the relevant Analytics property or its parent account. Add the exact Google-account email we provide in your onboarding checklist.

Use Viewer for reporting-only access or Editor when we are configuring property settings. Your checklist will specify the role. We normally request access to the relevant property rather than every property in your account.

Add our Google account

  1. Open Google Analytics and select the property for the correct website.
  2. Open Admin, then Property access management.
  3. Choose the plus button and Add users.
  4. Enter our Google-account email and leave the email notification selected.
  5. Choose the role listed in your checklist, review any data restrictions, then choose Add.

If you cannot add a user

Your account may not have Administrator permission. Ask the property’s administrator to complete the steps, or tell us who currently manages Analytics.

If you do not see a property

Try the Google account normally used for website reporting. If you cannot find an existing property, tell us before creating a new one so we can check the current measurement setup.

Google Analytics, Search Console and Google Business Profile have separate permissions. Complete each guide requested in your checklist.

Let us know when you are finished

After you send the invitation or add our account, tell us which account you shared. We will check the permissions and confirm that access is working.
